Sorry I missed a photo yesterday! But here's one for today! Just a plain 'ol bowl of fancy ornaments :) also, for this photo, I played around with some off-camera flash. For all you non-photographers, that means that had a flash go off in somewhere other than behind the lens :)

My mom has always been a huge fan of Nativity Scenes, and she has started to collect them. There are a bunch of them around the house, so i had a little fun photographing this one :)

12.16.12 Silent Night.

Tonight was the Christmas Party for youth group, which included lots of Xmas songs, caroling, eating food, and having a grand old time. 

One of the coolest parts of the night was signing Silent Night together by candle-light. It was a fun special moment.

My dad created these neat little things! A strand of christmas lights, with the lights stuck inside old (empty of course) shotgun shells.

They are really neat, and add some cool flair to those boring old white christmas lights :)

Yesterday i mentioned that my parent's house is all decked out in lights, which is awesome, so here's another one of the house!

I love the feeling of coming home to my parents house, and seeing it completely decorated for Christmas. We've had the same tree   (fake of course) and the same set of ornaments for as long as i can remember, so it's exciting to come home and see all of that. We used to have an angel, but she started to drunkenly fall off the tree, so we recently made the move to a star for the top of the tree.

I started seeing these posters all around town and got extremely excited. It wasn't long ago that Five Iron Frenzy got back together, and made my life a little bit brighter. If you don't know who they are, Five Iron Frenzy was and now is, and incredible ska band, with some truly brilliant music. Some hits include Where Is Micah, Blue Comb, The Day We Killed Crazy Horse, and my all time favorite, Rhubarb Pie. Check them out! Because they were once dead, and are now revived.

12.11.12. Holding On.

And today marks the first day of my Christmas Break. This photo emanates exactly how i feel as this semester ends. This was one of the most physically, mentally, and spiritually exhausting semesters I have ever had. I am exhausted from the semester, but I have finished it, and now i get a full month of rest and relaxation.
I saw this little leaf hanging on tight to it's branch, as all the other leaves have fallen, and it almost brought a tear to my eye. 

I know how you feel little leaf! Hold on tight!!

Today I took a walk to Pizza Casbah, a fantastic local pizza place here in Fort Collins, and saw some cool stuff on the way. Fort Collins has a lot of older buildings, so there is this kind of stuff lying around everywhere. It definitely makes for some fun photos!

12.9.12 -- Nap Time

Tonight at Youth Group, we did a "muck war" but it also included a pillow fight. SO, pillows, feathers, and "fake snow" created a mass chaos. Amidst this chaos, this goofball Dalton looked at me, grabbed a pillow, and pretended to take a nap.

I caught this shot and it made me laugh really hard.

In the mail today I got a new memory card, and a big 'ol 16GB one at that! I have also begun to play with different lighting and background techniques and such. 

 Doing this kind of stuff is a lot different for me, and makes me think in different ways. I am really enjoying the challenge!

I had half of my finals today, and the rest of my finals are on monday, so I spent all of today at school, but i did manage to get home, grab my camera, and snag this before all of the light slipped away.

12.5.12 Sprinkler

I have had the urge to start some sort of Photo-a-day or Photo-a-week type of thing for some time now, But because of school sucking up all my time, I kept putting it off. I thought about posting everything to my facebook page, but figured that might just get messy. Finally i remembered Blogs! So here it goes, I am going to aim for Photo-A-Day, but we shall see.... either way, this will constantly get updated with new photos quite often.
